Making a Difference around the World

With screenings and educational resources, we're raising awareness around screen time and the importance of those magic moments together screen free.

“It’s a very difficult journey, but it’s a very beautiful journey as well.”

- Mother of 5-year-old who saw an improvement in ADHD, language delays and autism related symptoms after trying a 'screen-fast'.

Supporting Families

A Stone Unturned, explores a crucial and timely topic: excessive screen time and the development of our youngest children, particularly those under 4.

What do studies say about screen time and brain development? Can digital screen fasts really help early interventions for autism and development delays?  Our stories with families and clinicians have the answers.  we are empowering parents, child care providers, teachers and early interventionists to help all children thrive to their full potential.

What Providers, Parents and Child Development Specialists are Saying

"Being screen-free can enhance eye contact and language, increase flexibility in thinking and behavior, expand interests, improve emotional regulation and ability to stay on task, induce more restorative sleep, and reduce anxiety and meltdowns." - Victoria L. Dunckley, M.D.

“I saw screen removal and increased social interaction provide huge progress for a young child with red flags for ASD. As a mother and clinician I must share this with the world.” - Lori Frome, Ph.D., Early Interventionist.

"New clinical case studies have found that many young children who spend too much screen time—on TV’s, video games, tablets and computers—have symptoms labeled as “autism.” When parents take away the screens for a few months the child’s symptoms disappear." - Marilyn Wedge, Ph.D., Child Development Psychologist.

About the Film

In A Stone Unturned, we bring together scientific research with intimate family journeys, offering a unique perspective on the intersection of technology, child development, and family life. As families share their personal stories, we also highlight the early intervention strategies that autism specialists are exploring, and the profound changes seen when families reduce screen exposure and reconnect with each other.

"I had a family member diagnosed as being on the spectrum about 20 years ago.  While dealing with the family situation I developed the hypothesis that electronic screen viewing is a trigger for ASD. I decided to conduct research on the topic myself so that parents, in particular, become better informed about the risks concerning screens and ASD." - Michael Waldman, Ph.D. Cornell University.
